His Advice to Students:
"PNC is looking for knowledgeable and polished candidates in the interview process."

An Allegheny College education empowered Dan Chorba to teach himself new ideas very quickly—an ability he has found vital in the competitive world of finance. As a trader in PNC's Corporate and Institutional Banking training program, Chorba has to keep pace in a constantly evolving field.
"There are always new products and theories to learn," he says, noting that the senior comprehensive project at Allegheny helped him to become a better researcher.
Having an economics degree—as opposed to one in business—has also proven beneficial for Chorba. He says that it has given him a different perspective on finance than many of his co-workers, a perspective that will become even more valuable as he looks to advance in the industry.
Chorba, who minored in communication arts, advises students embarking on a career search to get started early in their senior year and to improve their presentation skills. "PNC is looking for knowledgeable and polished candidates in the interview process," he says, "someone who is confident in their abilities and is well-prepared."
